Aaaaand, she’s back!
After 5 years away from the spotlight, with a son and a global pandemic between shows, it was no small thing when Raglan Baptist Church invited me to sing at their summer Community Day.
As you might expect, I was a little nervous – and out of practice! But singing about Jesus is always an absolute joy, I’d get to see some old friends again, and it would be the first event to feature a performance of Holding On. Well, what a gorgeous, joy-filled event it was!
Celebrating kindness and community
As the church celebrated local community heroes and their powerful acts of kindness, I was honoured to be a part of the day. It felt like the whole village and even beautiful weather had turned out for it – and with craft tables, a BBQ and a bouncy castle, Team Shipton made the most of the day too!
Not entirely solo!
When it came time to sing, my two little “assistants” came with me! They were very committed to their role (which mainly involved dancing, “supporting” my legs, and stealing the audience’s attention). Their enthusiasm added an unexpected layer of charm to the whole thing, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. 🙂

What’s next in 2025?
I loved sharing music with you all, seeing old friends again, and soaking up the community vibes.
Thank you to everyone at Raglan Baptist Church for making me feel so welcome, and especially to Pastor Carol for the invitation. We go way back to my Ross Baptist Church days, so it was really special to reconnect and be part of the mission she’s poured so much heart into. ❤️
The warmth and supportive feel of the day was the perfect note to return to.
I get the sense more singing things will come in 2025 – watch this space!
