Help!
Here's your chance to have your creative input in my most exciting song so far!

Alright, I need help. I CANNOT decide which mix to use for Til I’m Blue. :S
One version contains a seriously awesome lead guitar solo by my dad Doug Hadfield, whose talent is absolutely amazing, and which creates a focus point to the song.
The other mix is guitar-solo-free, but uses a simple melodic fill instead which arguably is more fitting for the song’s simplicity – one of the things I love about it.
So I’d love to hand this decision over to you! Would you please have a listen to the two versions and help me decide?! THANK YOU.
Definitely with the guitar, it seems to gel the song together really nicely and follow on from the start much better. Without it the song does seem to lose something. (By the way, best song ever yet! Love it!)
I liked them both! Not that that helps you very much! I think the first one is more “dance along to”, but the second one was good too. Why not produce both? People have “live and uncut” versions of songs, so why not have both versions available? Would that be too much hassle? If it’s a case of doing one first to get the money to do the other one, I’d go for the Dad one first, personally (but maybe I’m biased, seeing as how I’m MARRIED TO HIM LOL!!!)
Hahaha thank you mum, that’s great 🙂 Of course you are biased, but in our own ways, we all are! Thanks for letting me know what you think. xxx
My vote is for version 2 🙂
Nice guitar solo but I personally think the song works better without it.
Great work April!
That’s great, thanks so much for taking the time to listen and let me know 🙂
You have a great voice. It is smooth but you have a rasp there when you need it.
I prefer it with the guitar. There is an edge to your voice that the guitar really complements. Reminds me of early Pat Benetar tracks. Excellent..
Fantastic! Thank you Phill, that’s a great encouragement. 🙂 Good to hear your feelings about the guitar too, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.
Really difficult choice which I think will be very much down to the personal preference of the listener. I marginally prefer it with the guitar riff in the middle as I think it fills the song out better. However this is just my personal preference…… both sound great.. also think the drummer is pretty good too whoever that is. Overall mix balance is also spot on…….. Mike
Thank you Mike, that is a really helpful response. Genius producer David Pickering-Pick at FFG Media, near Tewkesbury, plays all the instruments bar Dad’s solo and does all the mixing etc. He really is fantastic. Thanks so much for the vote!
